Project by Toro Ferrer Arquitectos

Located in the vibrant Santurce district, Santaella is an intimate yet lively restaurant housed in an early 20th-century commercial building. Designed for renowned local chef and friend José Santaella, the space combines historical charm with contemporary design elements to provide a unique dining experience. A narrow garden enclosed between a glass partition and a mirror serves as a focal point in the main dining area, infusing the space with natural beauty and a tranquil atmosphere. The strategically placed mirror reflects the interior, enhancing the perception of space and creating the illusion of a larger room. The design embraces a minimalist aesthetic, using a limited palette of materials and striking details. Suspended lighting fixtures provide a soft, organic touch, while wooden surfaces add warmth, depth, and texture. By seamlessly integrating natural elements, Santaella’s design harmonizes tradition with modernity, resulting in a refined yet inviting dining atmosphere.
