LUIS MUÑOZ MARÍN FOUNDATION VISITOR'S CENTER

Location: Río Piedras, Puerto Rico

Project Area: 14,000 ft²

Project Year: 2010

This sensitively sited visitor’s center provides a gateway to the serene group of structures that make up the humble compound of Puerto Rico’s first democratically elected governor. The building takes advantage of the slope to accommodate deposits and administrative offices on a lower level while keeping exhibit and multi-use spaces at the entry level above. A patterned pre-cast concrete façade evokes a bamboo groove which once stood on its site.
