Aula Verde

Project by Toro Ferrer Arquitectos
Aula Verde is a groundbreaking community initiative that combines education, environmental conservation, and social rehabilitation. It emphasizes a participatory and multidisciplinary approach to exploring the interconnections between natural and human ecosystems.
Nestled within a wooded area adjacent to a public housing project, Aula Verde features a lush garden filled with diverse plant species, ponds, towering mahogany trees, and an outdoor classroom. A thoughtfully designed two-story building seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings, housing an administrative office, an entomological laboratory, and a butterfly conservatory.
In addition to its ecological contributions, Aula Verde provides meaningful work and training opportunities for individuals serving community sentences. These participants conduct educational tours and seminars for elementary school students, promoting environmental awareness while aiding in social reintegration.
